Day 1: Arrival-Volcanoes national Park
Pick up from the airport on arrival, have lunch in Kigali, get on the road to Volcanoes national park for 3 hours. Virunga National Park is in the magnificent Virunga Mountains, located in the Northern Province of Rwanda, on the border of Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The Virunga Mountains consist of six Volcanoes which include Karisimbi, Bisoke and Mikeno Volcanoes, and are home to the famous gorilla families and various other animals. The vegetation in the park is mainly Bamboo and rainforest. Apart from Mountain Gorillas, other animals like golden monkeys, chimpanzees live in this place too. Do not miss out on Dianne Fossey visit if you have enough time. Dianne Fossey is the researcher who dedicated her life to the Gorillas. Relax the rest of the afternoon or do a community walk
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
Arise early in the morning, have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters. Get briefed and begin the tracking. Gorilla tracking takes 2-8 hours depending on the movements. A maximum time of 1 hour is allowed to do photography and admire the gorillas. Return to the base and drive back to Kigali, drop off at a place of your choice in Kigali or at the airport.
Day 3: Dian Fossey tracking
Breakfast, go and visit Dian Fossey grave and research centre. Later have lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo, close to the gorilla-tracking center of Musanze. These two lakes are termed as the twin lakes. The local people do traditional fishing on these lakes, you can also get on a traditional boat or canoe to visit the island on these lakes. Scenery is good and it is an excellent spot for bird watching. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay
Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast you will go for Golden monkey tracking where you might spot other primates. Later drive to Kigali have lunch in Kigali town, in the afternoon do Kigali city tour. Visit the Genocide memorial site and you can also drive to the National Museum that is located in Butare. Butare is about 135 km from Kigali. This museum has a lot to offer culture ways. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 5: Cultural Tour Begins
After breakfast, visit any of Kigali’s top cultural attractions and destinations. You can choose from any of the places below.
With this trip you will get to visit the local pharmacy, see people under treatment and get to learn about the different herbs that are used as medicine
Iby’ lwacu cultural village
A visit to this village introduces you to the Ibyiwacu Drummers, opens you to the unique culture of Rwandese through their daily life and knowledge of the environment, poetry, folklores, dancing, singing, pottery and the theoretical hunt gathering skills.
Banana & Sorghum Beer Production Experience
Some of the staple foods in Rwanda are Banana and sorghum which are used in different ways as food, to make local beer and dilute drinks. A visit to these places is rewarding as you get to know how to make the local beer, taste it, and much more.
Musanze Village Walks
Enjoy the market walk and later sit with the Rwandese women who will teach you how to make traditional foods, how to serve the food and much more. You will get involved in whole process from the starting point, to cooking, serving and eating.
Nyamirambo Muslim quarter
To get to know more about the Arab influence in Rwanda, you will have to visit the Muslim quarter of Nyamirambo. It will introduce you to the city’s most multi-cultural suburb, the sights, sounds and smells of Rwanda. You will pay some of the homes a visit, visit the tailors, hair salons and see how things are done in this area. It’s a very good experience as life here is lived in a very different way.

Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, drive to Kigali, have lunch , transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
