Day 1: Kigali Cultural site
A professional driver/ guide will pick you from the Airport or Hotel, first will brief you before you set out. We will tour the city Kigali which is surrounded by amazing hills of green, visit Kigali Museum, Gisozi Genocide Memorial site. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. FB

After breakfast, drive to Butare which is one of the beautiful towns, The journey goes through the lushing hills. we will have an en-route stopover at the King’s Palace and the art museum in Nyanza. After lunch in Butare, we visit the National Museum for an classic Rwanda cultural experience. Dinner & overnight at the Hotel. FB

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park that hosts about 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, Colobus Monkeys Blue Monkeys, Angolan black and white,L’Hoest’s Monkeys. Afternoon will be spent tracking the Colobus Monkeys, sightseeing during the forest walks. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel/Lodge. FB

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking – Lake Kivu
Today after breakfast, we will set out to the forest for an exciting exercise to track the chimpanzees. After the trek depending on the availability of time optional: you may visit the local community and get engaged in the tea harvesting process or visit the artisan group. We will drive to Lake Kivu which is one of the spectacular lakes in Rwanda, with beautiful sceneries. Dinner & overnight at the Hotel. FB

Day 5: Gisenyi.

Today we will visit Gisenyi town best known for the sandy beaches and thrilling sight of Lake Kivu. There are a couple of activities to engage in; Visit hot springs/ do a community walk visiting local projects. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. FB

Day 6: Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village in Ruhengeri

ibyiwachu-cultural-villageAfter breakfast, we will drive to Ruhengeri to visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village where will learn and experience the traditions Rwanda, you will participate in songs and dances, drumming, dressing, interact with herbalists and healers, making local beer, this alone may take the rest of the day. You will drive to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. FB

Day 7: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Have an early breakfast and gather at the park headquarters for briefing, you will then go in the mist to track the rare mountain gorillas which may take from 2 hours or more depending on the location of the gorillas. After we will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. FB

Day 8:Departure
After breakfast, before drive to Kigali, you can either visit local Market to see what happens in a local market and to get yourself local crafts, fabrics and fruits. Alternative you could visit the twin lakes; Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo with yet beautiful views of the virunga, while here, you could participate in fishing with local fishermen using local fishing methods or simply interact with the local people and take a boat ride. We will drive back to the Kigali or be transferred to the Airport depending on your departure time. HB
